About Us
Who We Are
The Maria Owadi Memorial Foundation (MMOF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young people in rural Kenya through education, skills development, and sustainable entrepreneurship. We believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive, regardless of background.
Through our programs, we champion equal access to higher education, promote technical and vocational training, support social impact investments that create meaningful employment and sustainable livelihoods, and encourage the youth to embrace entrepreneurship to bridge the unemployment gaps in rural Kenya.
Our mission aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4 – Quality Education and 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth, driving inclusive prosperity for all.

Our Story
BACKGROUND
Seeing the youth from this remote rural Kenya waste themselves due to lack of direction and support, inspired by the spirit of Mama Maria whose living testimony was that of encouraging young ones to acquire education, a goal she missed in her time but that which see saw changing the lives of the down trodden in society. Mama Maria believed that education was the only equalizer she had seen. Therefore, until her final journey she won’t tire encouraging families and communities to do whatever was in their power to offer the young one’s direction. That spirit is the back born of the foundation, a true quest for empowerment of the vulnerable members of the community challenged by lack of resources and direction.
Our Vision Statement: A world where every young person has access to quality education, relevant skills, and opportunities to lead productive, innovative, and sustainable lives.
Our Mission Statement: To empower youth through Access to Higher and Technical Education, Vocational Training, Mentorship, and Sustainable Entrepreneurship Opportunities — fostering innovation, decent work, and inclusive development.

3. Sustainable Agribusiness and Entrepreneurship
We promote youth-led agribusiness and entrepreneurship ventures that contribute to food security, environmental sustainability, and rural development.
4. Mentorship and Leadership Development
We provide mentorship, leadership training, and guidance to equip young people with confidence, values, and the vision to lead positive social change.
5. Social Impact and Inclusion
